MY SPLURGE TODAY or Rainy Days and Tuesday

Today we are having flood-like rains. The internet went down and we are all inside the house so,  my family wanted to order a  pizza. I was concerned about my diet and while I'm ok with the kind of food I used to love being put before me, I decided to go ahead and have  few pieces of pizza with mushrooms-bacon-and sausage.

Well, since it's been about 4 months since I've had a pizza, it didn't sit in my stomach well. I felt heavy and now I feel like I have a gigantic grease-ball inside my stomach.

I couldn't get rid of the "yuck" factor of the pizza so I had a small bowl of tropical fruit in pineapple sauce and a tall glass of ice water with ginger (for the nausea) and lemon juice (about 1 tablespoon of each). After a few much needed burps (excuse me), I feel better (go figure!).  Viola! I've stumbled onto a remedy for upset stomach!

This made me ask myself, what do we do to our bodies?  I think that we all need to re-evaluate what we put into our bodies and pay attention to them when we're  feeling discomfort.
I feel so much better since my stomach can't hold as much "crap" inside anymore and I have so much energy that I know I'll never return to eating badly again. Not after THIS night!

HOW I LOST 26 POUNDS IN ONE MONTH!

Hi, I’m the “weirdo” whose goal is to lose 25 pounds in May. I wanted to share how I lost 26 pounds in April without starving (why does everyone assume that if you’re losing weight quickly, you’re starving yourself?).

The 1st day I ate what I normally eat in a day and counted the calories. After, I got up off the floor from the shock of realizing I ate 1200 calories at breakfast alone! I did the same for lunch dinner and snacks.

Now, remember you will lose weight if you eat less that you need to sustain your present weight. For example, if you weigh 300 pounds, and to stay at 300 pounds you’re eating 5,000 calories a day. If you cut your weight down by 100-200 calories you will lose weight. Your body will lose weight until it reaches the size that 4,800 calories will sustain. That’s how I started, by cutting out very small calories. Now I can eat 700 calories a day without being hungry! It happens fast, I started this in March and lost 12 pounds in March with this method.

Originally, I started my diet with the goal of increasing my metabolism, building muscle (burns fat and fights flabby weightloss), and of course, losing weight. I started researching. I went to the health food store and read the ingredients on the bottles of successful weightloss tablets. Once I did that I came home and figured out how I can duplicate the tablets with herbs and other low or no calorie items.
This would be my herbal “diet drink” so to speak. I came up with green tea with 1 teaspoon of ginger juice, cayenne pepper drink with sugar substitute instead of honey and a vinegar shot.
The green tea I drink mid-morning and mid-afternoon, the cayenne pepper drink 3-4 times a day whenever I can fit it in, and the vinegar shot after breakfast, lunch and dinner. The good thing about these are they also work as natural appetite suppressors and energy enhancers.

Recipes:Cayenne drink = 1/10 teaspoon red cayenne pepper, 2 tbsp lemon juice, and 1 packet sugar substitute.
Vinegar Shot = 1/2 ounce of vinegar (any flavor), 1/2 ounce of warm water (remember to hold your nose and you may need a diet drink chaser)

I do this and eat 700 calories a day, walk 20 minutes 4 days a week (at the beginning, now I walk around 40 – 45 minutes). Between your 600-700 calories of meals and your drinks spread out throughout he day (don’t forget! drink water), you won’t be hungry. If I get a craving, I drink the cayenne drink.

Note: If anyone is very active and concerned about the low calorie intake of this regimen, change the sugar substitute in the cayenne drink to 2 tbsp of pure 100% maple syrup. It will add 100 calories to each cayenne drink so be careful! This drink will also give you lots of energy (so don’t drink it before bedtime unless your using it in lieu of viagra).

This is how I lost the weight in April and not once was I hungry! Don’t listen to naysayers. We can do this! Remember, when someone tells you it can’t be done what they’re really saying is “they’ve never done it”. Try it, then decide for yourself if its too hard for you because it works for me and I’m not hungry and have lots of energy.

I also wanted to remind everyone to get at least 8 hours of sleep when doing this regimen. You need your sleep to make it work. I hope this helps everyone whose trying so hard to lose weight for summer!

GETTING YOUR COUGAR ON....!

OOOOOO.... this is a touchy subject (pardon the pun).  But how many of us have checked out a younger man and thought, if only I were 20 years younger? Let's face it, younger men are hot! I've always prided myself in enjoying the company of older men but lately, if any of the older men have "anything going on" they're being snatched up my younger women!

Perhaps our era of absentee fathers have bred a generation of young women who are looking for father figures in their boyfriends and husbands! For whatever reason, this event is pushing younger men and older women closer together. With older women looking better and better these days, these young men don't seem to mind.

Lately, I've had a number of younger men ask me out. I've been telling them that I don't date younger men because I believed it was the right thing to do. Well, the last time a young man asked me this question, I was trying to set him up with my daughter. He didn't like my daughter (and she didn't like him). Well, he asked me if younger men ever ask ME out.  Now, although I didn't consider dating this young man, this incident brought to mind other times I've been asked, said no, then walked away quickly (biting my hand in secret so I wouldn't focus on how aroused I had just gotten).

I've changed my opinion on dating younger men. They are no different than their older counterparts and they are more sure of what they want. The only thing you have to worry about is that they're fickle (although more genuine). If a younger man likes you, he likes you. If he doesn't, he doesn't.  There are other reasons that I will get into as I begin charting my experiences, but from my previous knowledge, I see pros and cons in both.

WHY ARE WE ALL SO UPTIGHT?

This is an unusual post for me because I'm usually very serious in my posts.  But lately I finding myself wondering why we are all so political.  Don't misunderstand, I don't mean in the sense of being republicans or democrats but, not many people are having FUN anymore.  In the past, I'd preach on achieving your goals while having fun doing it and their were many followers of that same theory. But lately, people feel the need to be melancholy about too many subjects. 

Recently, I joined a group in support of encouraging people to reduce, reuse, and recycle. I'm noticing that the group is "hell bent" on making this a political event. They want to say that democrats want to clean the air and republicans want to keep the air polluted.  My suggestion that republicans also want our air to be clean fell on deaf ears. I stated in my opinion that I don't think we should try to sway politcal preference by pretending republicans want dirty air!  That's ridiculous!

This is only one example of how we are getting un-funny (for lack of a better word) and taking too many "things" to the extreme.

As for me, I've just decided to put on my fun coat and getting my happy back.  If the world is going to "helena handbasket", mine is gonna be an Easter basket filled with lots of goodies!  If I can't enjoy saving the world, then I'm going die trying (to enjoy saving the world, that is).  Life is too short to be so serious about everything. And since my life isn't a dress rehearsal, I want mine to me funfilled! Anybody with me? Let me know.
