Fun and Fabulous!

I turned 43 exactly a month ago today. I wanted to start a blog so I researched how to make one and here it is. I'll be writing about what  makes us fabulous at forty. Some of what I say will make you laugh but hopefully some will help you realize (if you don't already), that we are living out the best times of our lives.

We're living during a time when there are many medical breakthroughs. In 1983, my mother died of cancer. I, on the other hand, am living at a time when we can fight back cancer if detected soon enough. Another good enlightment that we are benefitting from is the health craze of the 1970's. To this day I still eat healthy. I remember reading about all the homeopathic remedies and healthy foods and trying them out for the first time during my 20s. I'd take my paycheck and head right for the local health food store and buy my overpriced healthy foods. My favorite drink was coconut milk and perrier water, yum! Now, we have health food supermarkets!

And whoever thought plastic surgery would be as cheap and available as it is today. I remember in college my friend was studying to be a plastic surgeon. I made him promise me a discount operation of my choosing (I should find him again and hold him to that).

Thanks to the economy, we are the first generation to have our children move back in after college. I should say, move in indefinitely. I think any parent who makes their kids move on their own right now is just cruel. The economy is too sketchy to have them on their own and their jobs (if they are lucky enough to have one) are not secure.

And the internet.  I'm getting use to the internet and how it can help us share our ideas. So, here it am finishing my first blog.  In this blog I will talk about: starting over, aging gracefully, healthy living, travel, raising and re-raising kids, grandkids, dating, and staying young at heart. Come back and share your ideas with me. I don't claim to know it all, but I'd like us all to share in each other's aging process and grow old gracefully, together.

Until then, remember to stay fun loving and fabulous!
